Ynyslas sand dunes are located slightly north of Borth and reach onto the Dyfi Estuary, part of the Dyfi National Nature Reserve and home to many rare plants and animals. In the summer the dunes naturally transform into a colourful carpet of wild flowers including many rare types of orchid.

The habitats at Ynyslas Dunes book vary from the bare sand of mobile dunes next to the sea, through fixed and rabbit-grazedturf to the periodically flooded slacks.
